Sherwood Forest Country Park & visitor centre are at Edwinstowe (B6034) near Mansfield. The forest is at the heart of the Robin Hood legend and the former Royal Hunting Forest of Sherwood.
There are 450 acres of ancient oak and silver birch. Find the “Major Oak” which was Robin's favourite hideout. There is a visitor centre and restaurant. At the centre, details of local forest walks can be obtained.
