Beeston Lock is situated at the junction of the Nottingham Canal & Beeston Cut and the River Trent. Head out of town on the A6005 into Beeston. Take the turn off to the left at a major junction with traffic lights heading for the station. Pass over a bridge and through the Rayland's estate. You will come to the canal eventually and the lock. The Beeston Marina is a little further on after the lock.
There is a display board which gives the history and background to the lock.
If you walk over the canal, you can approach the River Trent and look out over the weir. Watch children here carefully.
