Behind Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem (which is just below the castle) is Brewhouse Yard Museum. This is set in a group of five 17th century cottages and shows life in Nottingham over the last 300 years. Rock Cottage houses a school room and toy shop of the 1930`s.

In this area you will find some of the Castle Rock caves. There is an interesting display board presented by the British Geological Survey which shows a "Journey back in time to Nottingham's prehistoric landscapes".
